Giving back during COVID

For most of us being hungry means missing a meal or two because we’re too busy working or doing something else—easily fixed with a trip to the kitchen, or a stop at the drive-thru. For those experiencing homeless, going without a single thing to eat for one or even two days, is a sad fact of daily life. For the nearly 40,000 youth in that situation across Canada, hunger is a constant companion, especially right now.

For charities and nonprofits who are trying to feed and care for youth experiencing homelessness  in the middle of a pandemic, the task is monumental. They are struggling to meet increased needs and to do so in the face of restrictive budgets. Recognizing the great need, many organizations have stepped in to offer help, including FCT.

“At FCT, we’re invested in our communities and are committed to driving positive change any way we can,” said Michael LeBlanc, CEO, FCT. “We recognize that every bit counts and in light of COVID-19, we’re focusing on a cause that is important to our company and our employees across the country. We wanted to support the great work our community partners are doing to provide critical resources for at-risk youth and those experiencing homelessness during these unsettling times.”
