FCT has introduced several enhancements to Client ID Verification, powered by Bluink, giving legal professionals more flexibility and control when requesting identity verification and providing clients with clearer guidance throughout the process.
Here are some of the latest updates now available.
What's new
Stronger ID verification controls
Legal professionals can now require clients to submit two pieces of ID when needed. If two pieces are required, both must be uploaded before your client can move forward in the app. Every uploaded identity document is authenticated, ensuring verification extends beyond just the first piece of ID.
Stay ahead of report retention timelines
Legal professionals will now receive reminder notifications before reports are removed from FCT's secure portal. These reminders provide greater visibility into report availability and help support file management processes. With advance notice before reports expire, legal professionals can reduce the chance of missed downloads, repeat requests, and additional costs.
Clearer communication for clients
Clients will now see enhanced messaging throughout the verification process, including:
- Clearer 30-day expiry timing: Clients will see in the initial email that the verification link expires in 30 days. This helps reduce confusion and encourages timely completion.
- Completion confirmation: Clients will receive a confirmation message once the verification process has been successfully completed. This helps confirm the request is finished and may reduce follow-up questions.
These updates are designed to create a more transparent and intuitive experience for clients, while helping legal professionals move transactions forward.

Existing FCT customers can continue submitting Client ID Verification requests using their current credentials through FCT’s ID verification portal or their integrated conveyancing partner portal.
