Impacting our community this holiday season, and beyond

As another year comes to a close, it’s a time to reflect on the power of collective impact. Across the country, our employees have shown that when we come together, through generosity, teamwork, and shared purpose, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of people who need it most.

At FCT, community giving is more than a seasonal effort. It’s an ongoing commitment to strengthening the communities where we live and work—by supporting youth at risk, advancing education, addressing food insecurity, and providing essential care and resources to those in need. Throughout this year, that commitment was reflected in the many ways our people gave their time and resources to help others and create lasting, positive change.

Teamwork on and off the ice: Hockey Helps the Homeless

In March, FCT employees across Canada joined forces for Hockey Helps the Homeless, an annual fundraiser and charity tournament that raises funds to support youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Through their teamwork and enthusiasm, our employees helped raise an impressive $40,000, far exceeding our original goal of $25,000. These funds were distributed evenly across our eight community partners, with each organization receiving $5,000 to continue providing critical services to youth in need—from safe shelter and meals to mental health supports and outreach programs.

This initiative demonstrates the strength of our collective effort. Each dollar raised reflects the compassion of our employees and the power of sport to bring people together in support of a shared purpose: ensuring that every young person has access to safety, care, and opportunity.

Supporting the next generation: the William G. Davis Scholarship Award

Education opens doors—and for many students, it’s the key to unlocking new opportunities and building bright futures.

In June, FCT proudly presented Menna Gebril with the tenth annual William G. Davis Scholarship Award. Offered through our partnership with the Halton Learning Foundation, this scholarship honours the late Honourable William G. Davis, former chair of FCT’s board, and his lifelong dedication to education and community service.

The award continues to reflect FCT’s belief in the power of learning to inspire change. Through this ongoing partnership, we’re helping students pursue their goals with confidence—creating an impact that extends far beyond the classroom.

Sharing gratitude through our Thanksgiving food drive

In October, employees across FCT rallied once again to support our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.

With generosity and teamwork on full display, our teams collected and donated more than 1,800 food items to our community partners across Canada. These contributions provided much-needed relief for youth and families facing food insecurity during a time when need often grows.

By coming together to give back, we helped ease the burden for local food banks and youth shelters—showing how even small individual acts, multiplied across our teams, can create meaningful change.

Delivering hope and essentials: kits for a cause

The year came full circle in December, as employees once again participated in Kits for a Cause—a favourite FCT tradition that brings our community commitment to life in a tangible way.

Through this initiative, our teams assembled and donated over 1,800 kits filled with hygiene products, winter essentials, and small comforts for youth at risk across Canada. These kits were distributed through our eight community partners, helping young people stay warm, safe, and supported through the colder months.

Each assembled kit represented more than the items inside—it symbolized care, connection, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel seen and supported during the holidays.

Carrying our impact forward

While the holidays shine a light on giving, our community commitment continues all year long. Through volunteer days, donation drives, and ongoing partnerships, FCT employees have the opportunity to make a difference in every season.

As we look back on this year, we’re proud of what we’ve achieved together—from fundraising milestones to hands-on community support—and deeply grateful to everyone who helped make these efforts possible. Together, we’re continuing to build stronger, more resilient communities across Canada.
