On March 21, FCT proudly concluded their sixth annual fundraiser in support of Hockey Helps the Homeless, a charity tournament in support of those experiencing homelessness across Canada.
This year, FCT’s on-ice team brought together talent from across the organization—operations, marketing, facilities, finance and commercial—together with local support and NHL alumni Brad Boyes and Kieth Acton.
But the real power of this initiative was felt off the ice: driven by the energy and determination of their employees, FCT’s teams turned fundraising into a strategic mission. Departments competed through raffles, sales, and creative office events—each one designed to maximize impact and engagement. Every dollar raised was matched by FCT, resulting in an outstanding total contribution of approximately $45,000 this year alone.
“We don’t just show up. We step up. This event is a testament to the strength of FCT’s people, our company spirit and our commitment to doing good where it matters most,” said Russ Bettinelli, manager of strategic initiatives and digital transformation at FCT, and captain of the company’s hockey team. “Our colleagues pour their energy into this every year because they know the incredible impact that every dollar raised makes in our communities. It’s something I’m incredibly proud to be part of.”
FCT’s team placed third in their division this year, but the true measure of success lies in the funds raised for our community partners across the country, who support youth experiencing homelessness.
With this year’s results, FCT’s total contribution now exceeds $250,000 and counting—a clear reflection of our long-standing belief that business success is inseparable from community responsibility.
