There’s been many recent changes with regards to ID verification requirements in Nova Scotia. To help you navigate through these changes and find the right solution for you, we wanted to share some of the most frequently asked question our team receives from the Profession.
 
Here’s what you need to know when completing ID verifications in Nova Scotia:

Does Client ID Verification support foreign passports?

Yes, passports are the ideal piece of ID and all foreign chip-enabled passports are supported.

Is the eID-Me app by Bluink a member of DIACC?

Yes, Bluink is a member of Digital Identification and Authentication Council of Canada.

My client has recently moved and their mailing address is different than the home address. Which address are they required to input?

None! FCT does not require them to input an address. The eID-Me app uses the address provided on the identification document.

What happens if my client recently got married and their ID shows the maiden name?

Our solution provides you with the flexibility to drag and drop the name order in the app.

Does my client really need to submit 2 pieces of ID?

No they don’t. The app is configured to accept one ID but the user has the option to upload multiple documents at no extra cost.

When will I be charged?

The legal professional is charged when the client completes the verification. The fees associated with ID verification requests will appear on your monthly FCT statement.

Some of my clients are not tech savvy. How much information will they be required to input?

They will only be required to enter their email address, verification code and cell phone number. The app does not require any other manual input. The app scans the details directly from the ID piece provided.
