FCT Receives City of Hamilton Business Appreciation Award in 2013

HAMILTON, ONTARIO, November 29, 2013 – FCT (First Canadian Title), Canada’s leading provider of title insurance has been recognized with a City of Hamilton Business Appreciation Award for 2013 in the Large Business Category for Ward 2.

“As we enter our twentieth year of operation in downtown Hamilton this is a wonderful tribute to mark this milestone,” said Patrick Chetcuti, FCT President. “From a start‐up with a few people to a large Hamilton business in less than two decades is something that I am proud of as a Hamilton “son”. I am delighted to share this award with all of FCT’s Hamilton employees.”

Presented by His Worship Mayor Bratina, Ward 2 Councillor Jason Farr and City Manager Chris Murray at a ceremony at City Hall on November 27th, Oubay Khatib, VP National Operations and Wendy Rinella VP Corporate Affairs, were on hand to receive the award on behalf of FCT.

They are simply outstanding corporate systems,” said His Worship Mayor Bob Bratina.

FCT’s Hamilton Office in operation since 1994, is located on Hughson Street and currently employs over 170 people. Since 2004 FCT has participated as a Corporate Team in the Around the Bay Race in support of St Joseph’s Hospital raising more than $130,000 in 9 years. Through the FCT Charitable Foundation, FCT and its Hamilton employees are supporting Good Shepherd Services and Phoenix Place in 2013.

FCT also continues to support Habitat for Humanity Canada (HFHC) nationally by supporting its financial literacy program and providing free title insurance policies for HFHC builds in Canada. FCT has a longstanding relationship with HFHC, providing over $280,000 in direct and in‐kind support to Habitat for Humanity Canada since 2007.
