through The Honourable William G. Davis Scholarship

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO, January 30, 2019 – FCT, the national leader in title insurance and real estate technology, has partnered with Home Suite Hope (HSH), a charitable organization that provides
transitional housing to the growing homeless population in Halton Region, to bring The Honourable William G. Davis Scholarship to students in the area. Teaming up with HSH aligns the scholarship program with FCT’s community investment focus on youth homelessness prevention.

“At FCT, we believe in the power of education to help break the cycle of poverty and homelessness, and we’re committed to supporting disadvantaged youth achieve their academic goals,” said Michael LeBlanc,
CEO of FCT. “Thinking differently about how we administer the scholarship program gives us an opportunity to work with organizations, like HSH, who share our commitment to youth homelessness prevention.”

Through the partnership, HSH will help solicit scholarship applications and participate in the selection of scholarship recipients.

“We’re so thankful for this opportunity to partner with a local employer to provide scholarships to deserving residents in Halton,” said Britta Martini-Miles, president and CEO of HSH. “The single mothers in
our programs are so worthy of these scholarships as they work to change their lives and make a better future for themselves and their families.”

Now in its fourth consecutive year, the scholarship program was named after The Honourable William G. Davis, the 18th Premier of Ontario and current FCT board chairman, whose passion for education contributed to his work in building Ontario’s community college system. FCT launched the scholarship in 2015, to help deserving students attend post-secondary education. Since then, the scholarship has helped 15 students across Canada offset some of the financial challenges that come with attending college or
university.

The scholarships will be awarded by HSH later in 2019.

How to Apply:

The scholarship is open to single, homeless mothers currently enrolled in HSH programs and/or their children, and HSH program participants attending a Canadian post-secondary institution. Eligible HSH
program participants are asked to fill out an application form with HSH. Each application must include their community and volunteer involvement, any extra-curricular activities, and an essay explaining why
they deserve the scholarship. A panel consisting of an HSH board member, an FCT representative and a member of the HSH program will be responsible for reviewing the applications and selecting the recipients. If you meet the above requirements, please reach out to your contact at HSH for further details on applying.
