Important update to Alberta’s Current Historical Title requirements
We strive to improve your experience by listening to your feedback. That’s why, effective June 5, 2021, FCT is waiving the requirement for you to obtain a Current Historical Title on Alberta residential real estate transactions, if no changes were made within six months.
Starting June 5, 2021, when title searches are needed:
- Current Historical Title is required only if there are changes to the registration date or change/cancel date within six months.
- Current Title is required if there are no changes to the registration date or change/cancel date within six months.
