Caring for the community: it’s how we’re invested

Community involvement

We’re invested in our community, and we support organizations that are focused on supporting youth experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. We’re actively involved in fundraising and volunteering activities within our local communities.

Our initiatives are close to our heart

FCT has always had a strong community spirit that stems from our core values: passion for integrity, passion to serve, passion to exceed and passion to innovate. We take pride in supporting our community initiatives, but ultimately it’s each and every one of our employees who make the biggest difference by taking the time to get involved.

Making a difference in our communities

We believe in giving back to the community. One of the ways we give back is by partnering with amazing organizations across Canada who help at-risk youth get the future they deserve.

Hockey Helps the Homeless

Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) is a not-for-profit that runs local charity pro-am hockey tournaments across Canada to support those currently experiencing homelessness. Since 2020, FCT employees, along with friends and family, have participated in HHTH’s Peel regional tournament.

To support our hockey team’s efforts, fundraising teams from across FCT’s departments come together every year in friendly competition. Thanks to their efforts, we’ve been able to raise tens of thousands of dollars so far to further HHTH’s mission of shutting out homelessness.

Day of Caring

FCT’s annual Day of Caring event brings all our colleagues together to help make a direct impact on youth currently at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. Through corporate and employee contributions, our volunteers assemble over 1,000 care packages every year, containing personal hygiene products, warm clothing and messages of support.

William G. Davis Scholarship

Each year, FCT is honoured to award the William G. Davis Scholarship, in partnership with the Halton Learning Foundation. Named for former FCT board member and Ontario Premier Bill Davis, the award continues his legacy of passionately supporting education by opening the door for a student who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to consider pursuing higher education.
