1. Focus on Instagram Stories
Ephemeral content (short-lived, impermanent content) has gained a lot of attention through the use of Instagram Stories. These stories will last for 24 hours and will keep your audience coming back for more, and hopefully increase engagement with your brand. According to Sprout Social, “The average time spent on Instagram per day grew to 28 minutes since the launch of Stories. That’s roughly 7 to 13 minutes longer than time ranges collected just before Stories.”
Will you be attending an industry conference this year? Post some videos or pictures on your story to let your followers know what’s happening throughout the conference.
2. Live streaming will continue to rise in popularity
2017 was a big year for live streaming. Stepping into 2018, live streaming has become an expectation on social media for many brands. But what content should you live stream?
Was there a new rule or regulation that’s just been announced? Pick up your mobile device, turn on your live video, be the subject matter expert and let your followers know what’s happening in the industry. 3. Engage with your audience on a personal level

4. More videos everywhere!
It’s impossible to scroll through social media and not see videos appear on your feed, and it’s no surprise that video content has been on the rise. In fact, SmallBizTrends states that by 2019, video traffic will account for 80% of all consumers’ internet traffic.
You could be missing out on opportunities to increase engagement and educate your audience on what you do and who you are. If you haven’t already incorporated videos into your marketing strategy, it’s time to start putting together a list of topics for 2018 and begin filming.
